Das das Wrestling sich in manchen Sachen garnicht soviel geaendert hat zeigt folgende Geschichte. William Muldoon gab am 27 April 1886 ein Interview indem er ueber Evan Lewis laestert/“shootet“, etwas was heute ja an der Tagesordnung ist im Internet.
“The first time I met the 'Strangler' was in 1883, when doing the Wisconsin circuit, and I was offering $100 to any man to try and throw me the 'Strangler' tried to win my 'cent try.'* I throwed him three times in fourteen minutes and could have wiped the floor with him. This made his party mad and they wanted to make another match for $250. I can throw him easily and care nothing for his choking tactics.”
