Refight steht fest, Jon Jones wird auf Alexander Gustafsson treffen bei diesem Event. Wie Jones sagte, waere er lieber auf Cormier getroffen weil er denkt das es ein haerterer Fight ist, aber alle anderen wollten ihn gegen Gustafsson sehen also hat er nun dem Fight zugestimmt. Daniel Cormier gab bekannt das er warten wird auf den Sieger, was bedeutet das er mindestens 6 Monate keinen Fight bestreiten wird, und das nur im guenstigsten Fall.

Der Jones vs Gus 2 Fight wird im uebrigen wie der erste Fight in Toronto stattfinden.

Ueber die UFC und die Verhandlungen ueber den Refight:
“Originally I just saw it a a strong arm technique on their part. I thought it was very unprofessional and kind of a bully technique, a negotiation bully style, I don't know what it was. But it is what it is. I think the fans are smart, the smart ones see when things like that happen and they realize what's going on. Yeah it looked like they were trying to do that (make it seem like he was ducking Gus). It was annoying, but I just needed to weather that storm and let everyone call me a chicken for a few weeks until I actually got there to negotiate the contract to take the fight in a professional manner, face-to-face.”

Ueber den Refight:
“My whole thing was that I had just beaten Gustafsson and I didn't really feel as if I needed to rematch him. A lot of people wanted to see it, yes, but at the same time I think it's important to be somewhat selfish when it comes to your career and your livelihood and the way you feed your family. Basically I didn't care who I fought, I wanted to be taken care of if I was going to be a part of what's supposedly the biggest fight of the year and one of the most anticipated fights in the history of the sport. I wanted to make sure I would be taken care of that way, any smart athlete would. That's what I was waiting for, basically. The way it looked was as if I didn't want to fight him. But really I just needed to get in a meeting to negotiate the numbers of such a big fight.”

Darueber das er nicht in Sweden antreten wollte:
“It won't be Sweden, no chance. I have no reason to. I'm the champ and he's the challenger, I don't find it appropriate for me to go to his backyard.”

Diese Show wird nicht in Toronto stattfinden sondern in Las Vegas. Warum die UFC den Event nach Las Vegas verlegte ist nicht bekannt.

Bei UFC 178 wurden folgende zwei Fights angekuendigt, darunter das Comeback nach drei Jahren von Dominic Cruz.

Die ehemalige #1 Contenderin Cat Zingano wird bei UFC 178 nach ueber einem Jahr ihr Comeback gegen gegen Amanda Nunes

Conor McGregor bekommt nun bessere Gegner, naechster Gegner ist Dustin Poirier.

Schade fuer Gus, aber imo ist der Fight besser. Hatte schon Angst das es gar nicht mehr zu Jones vs Comier kommen wird, jetzt darf sich nur nicht noch einer verletzen…den wenn Cormier ausfaellt hat die UFC keinen mehr und man muesste den Event wieder canceln. ;)

Sherdog berichtet das Eddie Alvarez sein UFC Debut bei UFC 178 gegen Donald Cerrone geben koennte. Derzeit laufen die Verhandlungen dafuer. Alvarez ist immer noch unter Bellator Vertrag, aber die UFC verhandelt bereits mit Alvarez.

In Las Vegas gab es eine Pressekonferenz mit den beiden die damit endete das beide auf sich einschlugen. Die NSAC wird den Vorfall untersuchen und wahrscheinlich eine Geldstrafe aussprechen, die UFC gab auch schon bekannt das so ein Verhalten nicht gut sei, aber am Ende des Tages wird es wahrscheinlich dafuer Sorgen das sich mehr Leute den Fight anschauen wollen.
