Über seinen Einstieg in Wrestling:

"I was about 13 and my big brother lent me an old wrestling game. I played that and started watching wrestling. I found it, late night on Asahi. In this game you could only do lariats, things like that. But the TV introduced me to juniors and I was blown away. I was thinking 'a guy that size doing a moonsault!' 'This kind of wrestling exists!' 'This is amazing!' "

Über die verschiedenen Stile im Wrestling:

"Every country is amazing in its own way, but the only place that takes the very best of each country's style is Japan. Comparing Japanese Wrestling to everywhere else, it's like comparing ping pong to tennis - that level of difference. But right now .. so many wrestlers from all over the world are gathered together in Japan, so it's great to be able to interact and absorb that knowledge. "

Über NJPW im Vergleich zu anderen japanischen Promotionen:

"We're the promotion with most variety, most diverse styles. We have "high fliers" and "ground guys". We have strikers, babyfaces, comical guys, serious guys. We have colour, variety and it encourages people to find who they like and want to follow. We have more kids watching lately and I hear them yelling 'Okada! Okada!' I shoot them a look and tell them '*Mister*Okada'. "

Selbstreflexion über seine Matches:

"I win some and lose some, but I do watch my matches. I'm not interested in critiquing myself, but more that when the crowd reacts to my entrance or if they're happy even if I lose .. that stuff makes me happy. Honestly I see my matches and think: 'damn I'm pretty cool!' It's like looking into a mirror and seeing a completely different version or yourself staring back at you. Really though - I can try to take a day completly off and away and will end up lounging around and putting an old wrestling DVD in. I just really like it."

"My policy is to only do moves that the audience wouldn't want to try. I don't ever want to do something that makes someone sitting in the crowd go 'how was that supposed to hurt?'. Everthing I do then has fans react with a 'woah!'. My dropkick is the most obvious example of that. That 'policy', I guess it was when I came back to Japan in 2012 when it started. I was asked: 'what kind of moves do you want to do?' .. and when I told them, everyone was surprised. That's kind of why I came up with that moveset! Even when I see myself now I think 'do audiences want to see this or that'. So my style has Mexican & American influences, it's very varied. But that's not just me, it's such a melting pot right now you have to have that mentality to be the top guy."

Über den G1:

"It's the toughest thing in wrestling. You're tagging and you've got singles matches and you can't lose the singles matches. You're traveling all over the country all the time as well, so you don't really stop. I never feel tired during it but as soon as you're done .. 'wham' - it's like a ton of bricks. You have to make a mark and stay the course as well. It's very difficult."

Der jährliche ziellose Goto-Push oder Titelgewinn im Tokyo Dome, was meint ihr?

Es sind noch 2 Tage .. also erst mal abwarten .. und passend dazu tranquillo.
Ich tippe immer noch auf Naito, hatte aber auch mit Tanahashi bei Block-A gerechnet .. aber gegen Okada nach WK zu gewinnen (und nach einer Verletzung) wäre auch zu viel des Guten.
Einige meinen, dass es eher auf Goto vs Shibata läuft .. ob nun in 2 Tagen oder bei WK 11 wovon ich eher überzeugt wäre, als gegen Okada.
Im Verlauf des Turniers hat Goto auch nichts Besonderes / Neues gezeigt seit seinem Wechsel zu CHAOS.
Also eher der jährliche try and error Push .. vielleicht in eine andere Richtung, aber naja.

Bei den Finalisten könnte es durchaus passieren, dass der Sieger der Climax seinen Title Shot vor Wrestle Kingdom noch verliert. Es wird auch langsam Zeit, dass das mal passiert.

Obwohl ich es ähnlich wie Nef sehe, also den Turniersieg / den G1 damit zu schwächen, ist es die übliche Booking Methode den Gewinner gegen diejenigen antreten zu lassen, gegen die er im Turnier verloren hat.
Das ist jedenfalls bisher das Programm über die nächsten Großevents gewesen.

Also bei Goto somit: SANADA, Tanahashi, Okada
und bei Omega: YOSHI-HASHI, Elgin, Shibata,

und Okada würde bei Goto wegfallen .. außer Okada verliert vorher den Titel, aber .. ne

Okada wird dafür den Titel bei den nächsten Events gegen Marufuji, Fale verteidigen (vllt. noch Naito oder Tana, aber da hieß es nach WK10 eigentlich kein weiterer Shot .. ).

Jedenfalls werden generell Champion und Contender bis zum 04.01. mit Matches und Promos "aufgebaut".
