Rousimar Palhares wurde mal fuer seine Unsportlichkeit bestraft, ja ich weiss, ueberrascht mich jetzt auch total.
Zuerst meinte WSOF Vice President Ali Abdel-Aziz:"You have to understand, I'm the guy who fucking stood up for him. I don't know if you remember or not, but I'm the guy who said, ‘you know what, I'm going to sign him.' If I go back on tape and watch that fucking fight tomorrow, and if I see Palhares held too long, and did the eye poking a couple times, he might be stripped of the title. And Jake Shields would fight the winner between Yushin Okami and Jon Fitch for the title, and I would suspend Palhares.
The Nevada Athletic Commission have to step up their game now. Steve Mazzagatti, I tweeted a picture of me and him before the event. Everybody was on him waiting for him to ref the main event. I wanted to give this guy some slack and I tweeted a picture of me and him. To be honest with you, I thought he should've stopped the fight and taken a point from Rousimar Palhares. That's what I thought. I'm not a ref, but I was watching and I saw, definitely, some eye gouging."
Dann einen Tag spaeter wurde sein Title fuer vakant erklaert und Palhares suspendiert. WSOF President Ray Sefo meinte ueber die 7 Fingerpokes:“Not only did he do it once or twice. He did it numerous times. And he was warned by the referee on four different occasions.”
Das ist eines der Probleme, Referee Steve Mazzagatti hat Palhares viermal GEWARNT nachdem er 6-7 Fouls gemacht hat. Wieso muss jemand viermal verwarnt werden? Macht er es einmal, dann eine Verwarnung, beim zweiten Mal Punktabzug und beim dritten Mal die DQ. Und wenn ein Fighter dafuer bekannt ist das er das haeufiger macht dann schon beim ersten Mal den Punktabzug und beim zweitenmal die DQ. Palhares macht es ja, weil er in der Vergangenheit fast nie Konsequenzen hatte.
Palhares wurde davor in der UFC einmal suspendiert weil er eine Submission zu lange hielt und dann bei einem weiteren Mal von der UFC entlassen.
Jake Shields wurde im uebrigen auch suspendiert fuer seinen versuchten Schlag nach dem Fight, das sollte auch nicht unerwaehnt bleiben. Genauso wie das nun Rousimar Palhares Jake Shields auch des Cheatings beschuldigt:”That makes me sad. Jake Shields is unbelievable. He’s a total asshole. I couldn’t believe someone could be such an asshole. He has no respect for me, for the sport, for anyone. He’s dishonest. He had Vaseline all over his body, he was more slippery than a okra. I couldn’t grab a hold of him for nothing.
I wasn’t mad at him before the fight, but the things that happened during the fight made me pissed. He’s calling me a dirty fighter, but he’s the one with Vaseline all over his body. That’s dirty. And he also threw things at me while I was talking to the media after the fight. I was upset with things he said before the fight, but I became pissed with everything that happened in the fight.
He had so much Vaseline that I could barely stand back up after we went to the ground for the first time. I couldn’t event throw a kick or go for a takedown, I couldn’t hold him at all because he was too slippery.”
Wenn man sich den Fight anschaut ist davon nichts zusehen. Zudem sieht es wie eine billige Ausrede aus, jeder Fighter koennte WAEHREND des Fights den Referee darauf hinweisen, was Palhares nicht gemacht hat.
Zu den Fingerpokes meinte Palhares uebrigens das er nur versuchte Shields Gesicht weg zu druecken….ahhhh ja klar.
