Kairi Sane is leaving WWE

Dave Meltzer is reporting in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Kairi Sane is going to be returning to Japan to be with her husband.

This was first reported months ago by Meltzer and there was talk at the time that she would be leaving when her WWE contract expired. Meltzer noted that WWE has known about her wanting to leave by May and possibly earlier than that. Sane was legitimately hurt by Nia Jax recently when she was thrown into steel steps during a match on the 6/1 episode of Raw that was taped on 5/26. The show was taped so WWE edited out the blood and the extra seconds of the match where the referee checked on her..... Meltzer noted that the talk with Sane has been (not recently, though) that once her WWE contract was up that she would wrestle one more year in Japan and then retire.

Kairi Sane is not wrestling for WWE right now. She’s been out of action since Nia Jax pushed her into the steel ring steps and busted her head open. There were apparently already plans for Sane to retire.

We previously reported that Kairi Sane was making plans to return to Japan with her husband. Those plans for Sane’s exit were initially supposed to include picking a SummerSlam opponent for Asuka, but Nia Jax ruined that.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Sane was already planning on retirement. The 31-year-old WWE Superstar was reportedly going to wrestle for a year in Japan following her WWE contract expiration before hanging up her boots for good.

PWInsider berichtet nun das die heutigen WWE Tapings der letzte Termin für Kairi Sane sein werden

It was earlier reported that WWE didn't want to re-sign Kairi Sane and was done with the WWE Superstar. After a few days, we learned that the company is interested in keeping Sane on and is looking to offer her a contract she can't refuse.


Amid the above rumors, Tokyo Sports reported that Kairi Sane would be returning to Japan as early as next month. Now, according to PWInsider, Sane is on her way out of the WWE.


The website has reported that today's WWE taping will be Kairi Sane's last as it marks her final date with the company. The report also notes that Sane is leaving WWE on good terms and that she will remain a part of WWE's extended family.

An update on Kairi Sane’s WWE status

Kairi is said to be leaving on good terms and “will remain part of WWE’s extended family.” There was supposedly talk she could serve as an ambassador for the company in Japan, but if that’s the plan, we’ll likely have to wait until after a COVID vaccine is available to find out.For now, the joshi legend will settle into life as a newlywed in her home country.

ich denke der Heiratstermin war kein Zufall und gewissermaßen der Beginn der leave-wwe/return2japan storyline. Kairi hatte die Schnautze voll von den inkompetenten Gamemakers und den fetten Giganten gegen die sie wrestlen musste. Ich jedenfalls wünsche dem Mädel alles gute für Japan und eine super glückliche Ehe mit vielen, vielen artigen Kinderlein.
