    • An den Ergebnissen der ersten regulaeren Smackdown Show im August 1999 sieht man ein paar interessante Entwicklungen damals, die heute etwas in Vergessenheit geraten sind:

      -Billy Gunn wurde versucht im Sommer 1999 als Mr. Ass in den Main Event zu pushen, allerdings scheiterte das klaeglich weil die Fans ihn ablehnten. Er bekam eine Fehde mit The Rock nach seinem KOTR Sieg, und war danach gleich wieder voellig zu Recht in der Midcard.

      -Jeff Jarrett war kurz vor seinem Wechsel zur WCW und wurde verjobbt.

      -Big Boss Man und Al Snow hatten eine der peinlichsten Fehden der Attitude Era, die dann in einem Kennel from Hell Match endete, wo harmlose Hunde in einem Kaefig mit eingesperrt waren.

      -The Big Show und The Undertaker bildeten ein schreckliches Tag Team. Erstens war TBS damals sehr ausser Form, wurde kurze Zeit danach auch deswegen zur OVW degradiert. Der Undertaker hasste es, und es gab einen Vorfall wo die beiden sich bei einer Show On Air stritten. Aus Kayfabe Sicht machte das Team auch kein Sinn, da der Taker kurz zuvor noch in der Ministry of Darkness war, die dann ja aufgeloesst wurde, als Vince als Higher Power bekannt gegeben wurde. TBS war keine 6 Monate zu diesem Zeitpunkt bei der WWF und total verloren mit der Entwicklung.

      -Chris Jericho hatte ein phantastisches WWF Debut gegen The Rock, wurde danach aber gleich in eine Fehde gesteckt mit dem Road Dogg (gefolgt von X-Pac und dann Chyna), was sehr enttaueschend war. Jericho kam erst 2000 mit dem Eintreffen von Chris Benoit und dem pushen von Kurt Angle da raus.

      -Shane McMahon wurde damals als “Wrestler“ gepusht, aber ausser seinen verrueckten Stunts gab es nicht viel.

    • Ja, Gillberg bekommt ein WWF Championtitle Match, zu dieser Zeit hat doch glaube ich mal The Brooklyn Brawler gegen Triple H gewonnen oder?

      Man achte auch mal auf die Matchzeiten, typisch WWE Attitude Era, kaum ein Match ging ueber 10 Minuten bei Raw oder Smackdown, und das meiste war ein overbooked mess.

      The New Brood Gimmick floppte fuer die Hardys. Bevor Lita zu ihnen kam, hatten sie Gangrel und Michael Hayes als Manager, was null paste.

      British Bulldog wurde auch belohnt fuer sein WWF Comeback nach Owen`s Tod, trat sogar beim PPV im September 1999 im Main Event auf als er im WWF Championtitle Match stand. Zu jener Zeit war er jedoch kaum noch in der Lage zu wrestlen durch seine Rueckenverletzung und Pain Killer Sucht und war auch bald wieder weg.

      Ja, Vince machte sich selber zum WWE Champion natuerlich…
