NWA President Ernie Todd tritt zurueck
#1

It is with great regret that I am forced to tender my resignation as President of the NWA & from the NWA Board of Directors. I cannot be a part of a Board that attacks my race, my heritage, my family & everything else they can, with the purpose of running me off the Board so they can control the NWA. I apologize to all those members who support me & have supported me all these years by voting me on the BOD, 8 of the 9 years I have belonged to the NWA & supported me for the President bid last year. I have made many good friends on my NWA journey.

I cannot, nor will I tolerate being called a "Drug Store Indian" or being referred to as "Hiawatha" , nor will I allow certain members of the Board & certain members of the NWA, to constantly refer to my family in derogatary ways, nor will I allow idle threats to be made against my family by "power hungry" members of this BOD & the NWA for their own political purposes. They can call me names, play all their counter prodcutive games they want, I can handle that, but when you bring my family & race into it as a last resort, that to me is stepping over the line!!!

I am proud of my Aboriginal Heritage, proud of being bestowed the title of "Aboriginal Role Model", proud of my family & the accomplishments I have strived to achieve during my life & I will continue on the path that has been set our before me.

The goal of becoming the first Aboriginal President of what I thought was a respectful & tolerant organization, plus bringing the NWA 56th Anniversary Convention to Canada are goals I set & achieved. I do so to set an example for all Aboriginal youth, that they can achieve their goals if they lead a clean, healthy lifestyle by staying away from drugs & from alcohol abuse.

I will be considering my legal options as a result of this cowardly attack on my heritage & my legal options with the NWA & the individuals who made these comments. Attacks against one's race should not be tolerated in the society we all live in.

They wanted to force me out as President & they wanted to force me off the BOD, well now they have their wish. I have repeatedly asked for an apology & have pleaded with the membership to take action against the individuals who are making the racial slurs. The lack of action by the membership has forced me to resign from the BOD & as President.

I will not tolerate these types of offensive, racial comments any longer against my heritage.

A blockbuster announcement as to the future of the CWF in the coming weeks.

An was liegt es denn?

Folgendes Statement gab Ernie Todd gestern bekannt:

“I do apologize to any of the members I have offended in the past. I do not consider the NWA to be a racist organization. I hastily made the statement out of a passion for all aboriginal peoples & I do apologize to those that feel my statement harmed the organization.

I hope this all can be put in the past & the NWA can continue to prosper.

Ernie Todd”

Today has been a historic & trying day for myself & the CWF.

I was kicked out of the NWA today for standing up for my rights as an aboriginal person in Canada & I was welcomed into the AWA (American Wrestling Association) by Dale Gagne, who has become a supportive friend. While it would be easy for me to go on here & bash the NWA, I have more respect for the tradition of the NWA, however I do not have too much respect for the current organization.

When Ed Chuman call me a "Drug Store Indian", I found that offensive. Implying that all aboriginal people in Canada stand around & do nothing, don't work, wait for handouts, welfare, I find offensive. That is a stereotypical attitude that we are fighting to change.

I invited Mr. Chuman to come up to some of the Northern communities I visit to see for himself & relay his thoughts to those people in the commuities. That I would like to witness personally.

I asked for an apology, when he refused, I asked for an arbitrator to be assigned under our bylaw structure, but was refused by the current BOD members. The membership failed to respond & they failed to protect my rights as not only a member but from the discriminatory remarks.

I was left no choice but to take a stand, When I did Dave Republic had these comments in an e-mail " you do not have any support from any Aboriginal leaders or organizations in Canada. In fact you are detested because of your 1/16 Métis heritage which you only use as a tax advantage". Facts are Dave Republic & Ed Chuman were the ones who brought forth the motion & lobbied for my removal from the membership with a motion that was a twisted version of the truth & this is only the tip of the iceberg. Both of them seem to have a problem with Aboriginal people.

Now onto more positive news. I joined the AWA & obtained the rights to Canada. That is great news for all those people contacting me in British Columbia. Now I will be able to start visiting BC communities with no fear of being kicked out of an organization for doing so. That is another story. In addition, I have already been contacted by a BC based promotion & an Alberta based promotion about the AWA affiliate program.

I used to sit glued to the TV every Sunday afternoon watching the AWA when I was a kid. Nick Bockwinkel, The Crusher, Maddog Vachon all made wrestling real for me. My goal is the same as the AWA, to bring back that "old school" style, which I have been doing for the last 3 years. The AWA will only validate my efforts to a higher level.

I met many of the stars of the AWA at the old Gold's Gym in Winnipeg when they used to come to town. Back then I was power lifting. I remember one of the Fabulous ones asking me if I ever consider becoming a wrestler. At that time I had no interest in the business. Man, how times change.

Stay tuned as the plans are under way to feature some AWA legends on my upcoming 10th Anniversary show. Once a date has been confirmed, the announcement will be made.

Zitat:A motion was put forth by the NWA to remove me from the company. I have not received any notice of my termination from the company. The NWA has not informed me that my membership has been terminated. Even though I have been told that Dave Republic has been offering free affiliate memberships in my territory, I still officially am the member of record. I will continue to use the NWA brand name as I see fit in my territory that I paid for. I am fully prepared to take the NWA, plus the current Board of Directors to court if necessary & I have the necessary documentation to back up my case. I have been told by legal counsel that if I win, since the NWA has no money, I could very well be awarded the assets, which means I could win up owning the NWA. However, I have sent an e-mail to Bob Trobich asking to settle this out of court & spare the NWA the embarrassment of court proceedings, where everything becomes public knowledge. I have correspondence saved dating back to 1998.

Being that Dave Republic has banned me from viewing the NWA message board weeks ago, I cannot view the comments made about myself.

There is nothing in the NWA prohibiting a member from belonging to another organization. Bill Behrens belongs to the WWE, he will be promoting Deep South & he has associates promoting NWA so he can retain his membership.

I made the public statement on the NWA site like they wanted, I apologized to the membership & they still voted to remove me but I have not been officially notified.

An interview is being conducted now for the AWA site, which will reveal some shocking revelations about this matter & the NWA.

May main focus is building AWA Canada but as far as I am concerned I am still a member of the NWA & will protect my rights through the court systems if necessary.

Regards,

Ernie Todd – President
