Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong gab heute bekannt das Brenden Morrow fuer 6 weitere Jahre in Dallas unterschrieben hat. Der Vertrag der bis 2013 geht garantiert Morrow $24,6 Millionen ($4,1 Millionen pro Season). Morrow`s derzeitiger Vertrag waere erst im naechsten Sommer ausgelaufen, somit haben also die Stars verhindert das er naechstes Jahr Free Agent wird.

Der 27 jaehrige Left Wing meinte dazu:“I wanted to stay in Dallas all along and now I can concentrate completely on the ice for this upcoming season. I couldn't be happier and am extremely excited about continuing my career with the Stars for many years.” Und GM Armstrong fuegte an:”Signing Brenden to a long-term extension was a top priority for this hockey club. We consider him a cornerstone player and an integral part of our team. Brenden is one of our main leaders and sets the tone for the club with his consistent play. He brings a lot of energy and tenacity to the lineup each night and the Dallas Stars are extremely proud to have him here over the next seven seasons.”

Morrow erzielte im letzten Jahr in 81 Spielen fuer die Stars 23 Tore, hatte 42 Assists, ein +30 Rating, aber auch 183 PM. Doch das entscheidende ist das Morrow seine Karrierebestleistung in den Toren, Assists und Punkten aufstellte, diese Entwicklung sah Dallas nun als Grund an ihn langfristig an das Team zubinden.
