Dave Meltzer ueber den Unterschied WWE vs. NJPW
#1
Dave Meltzer schrieb im letzten WON ueber den Unterschied WWE vs. NJPW:

There are a few comparisons in watching WWE, New Japan and PWG live from the front row. WWE is a totally patterned performance based upon giving the audience routines that they know from television. It's all about hitting the trademark spots, working at a decent clip and doing safe matches. From a technical standpoint, it's usually decent, but when you're up close, the really good workers, like Cesaro, Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, or A.J. Styles stand out.

New Japan is so much more technically sound. Everything is much harder hitting, the holds are applied more snugly, and there's no sense of the laziness in application (not in the work or effort itself) that WWE seems. Watching Sho, Yoh and Kushida in a dojo show and seeing their ridiculous conditioning where they work at a fast clip, everything is so much more crisp and executed so much better than at a WWE show. A guy like Orton, who is always in the right place, with his strong timing and his stuff looking good stands out in WWE. In New Japan, the only difference is he's much taller than anyone there, because their prelim guys as far as technical workers are at his level. The WWE has one A.J. Styles, and New Japan has a half-dozen or more.

New Japan has an element of basic patterning as well, but the ability to make

matches dramatic and have the moves mean something is far more pronounced. There is also far more unexpected, and much more creative work. There are also a multitude of different style matches on the show, with veterans underneath who do work similar to WWE, but the main eventers constantly put pressure on themselves to top their previous efforts.
